Intensive Workshop (suitable for
students who have completed Illustrator Part I or have the equivalent skill level)
Taught by Joost De Geyter. Click here for Joost's profile.
Expand your knowledge of Adobe Illustrator with higher-level tools and
techniques including type manipulation, custom swatch libraries, useful
gradients, and striking special effects. Develop your skill and
boost your productivity with hands-on exercises as you explore blending
tricks, altering tool presets, and complex path operations. In the
beginner course, we used Illustrator to create simple illustrations and
logos. In this course, we will take it a step further, learning to
create more-complex illustrations, print documents and illustrations
suitable for the web. Our goal is to create more-sophisticated,
striking illustrations that go beyond those which can be created using
the basic tools. We will employ a project-based approach to using
the vector drawing tools, advanced path manipulation commands, and how
to use blends and clipping masks for amazing visual effects -- all of
which will help to unlock your creative potential. Upon successful
completion of this course, students will be able to:
create a complex illustration.
build a cartoon character.
create objects with multiple fill and strokes.
create and manipulate advanced type.
enhance complex illustrations.
create a vector version of a raster graphic.
color an artwork using the Live Paint and Live Color features.
create special effects using the Live effects including 3D effects.
export graphics for the Web and mobile.
master basic skills in Photoshop and InDesign.
prepare documents for composite and commercial printing.
